More than 20 books will lead up to the release of the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga.

For fans hoping to find clues to the end of the Skywalker Saga before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters, that task will get a lot easier starting in October. That’s the month when the first of the publishing tie-ins to the next Star Wars film will be published and the run-up to the end of the long-running sci-fi saga fully begins.

“The Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker publishing program is our biggest and boldest film tie-in program yet. We’ve got exceptionally talented authors, artists, and publishers creating content for fans of all ages,” Lucasfilm’s creative director of publishing Michael Siglain told StarWars.com about the new line. “While these titles will include some hints and Easter eggs for the new film, the majority of these titles will feature all-new stories set following the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Our ‘Journey to’ books and comics will star Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and, of course, Leia, Chewie, the droids, and the First Order. Here, you’ll get a glimpse at both the state of the galaxy and some of the ongoing battles between the Resistance and the First Order.”

Among the new titles announced are Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Resistance Reborn by Rebecca Roanhorse, which deals with the attempt to rebuild the Resistance after it was decimated by the events of The Last Jedi, and the comic book series Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Allegiance, by Ethan Sacks and Luke Ross, in which General Leia Organa — during the same time frame as Resistance Reborn — reaches out the Mon Calamari in an attempt to rebuild an alliance with the aliens who built the starships of the Rebel Alliance.

In addition to fiction titles in prose and comics, new non-fiction releases were also unveiled, including The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker The Visual Dictionary and an updated edition of DK Publishing’s encyclopedia The Ultimate Star Wars.
