'Suicide Squad': Jared Leto's Joker Revealed (Photo)
This is a heck of a way to celebrate the Joker's 75th birthday.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer revealed the first look at Jared Leto as the iconic supervillain in order to celebrate the Clown Prince of Crime's birthday.

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Also in the mix of the supervillain-heavy film are Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood and Common.
The film centers on a group of imprisoned villains who are recruited by the government for covert operations. It is possible that the film could see cameos from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice's Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor) and Ben Affleck (Batman).
Leto's transformation for the role has been watched with almost absurdly comical closeness. He turned heads when a glimpse of his green hair for the role was revealed the day after he was noticeably absent from a table-read photo. (The joke was that Leto was the one who took the picture.)
Before that, the Internet was abuzz about Leto dying his hair platinum blond in March as a base for the green hair dye.
But the pandemonium started even earlier, when he cut his once-long hair.
Leto, as people had been used to seeing him:

For comparison's sake, here's Heath Ledger in his Oscar-winning turn as the Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight. While Ledger's Joker used white makeup on his face as a sort of war paint, Leto's Joker is uniformly pale all over — and heavily tattooed.
Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad is set for an Aug. 5, 2016, release date.
