Nintendo Unveils 'Super Mario Maker 2' for Summer Release

Get ready to build more of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Super Mario Maker 2, the follow-up to the popular 2015 Wii U game, is set to launch June 28, Nintendo revealed Wednesday.

As with the original, the sequel allows players to create and play their own Super Mario levels and share them with the world. Super Mario Maker 2 will introduce new tools, items and features for users to try their hand at developing challenges for gaming's most famous plumber and his cohorts. New for the upcoming title will be the ability to create slopes for the first time.
Originally released in September 2015, Super Mario Maker was one of the most successful titles released on Nintendo's Wii U console. The game has sold over 4 million copies worldwide and users have created more than 7 million courses in the game, which have been played more 600 million times.
Super Mario Maker 2 will be available on the Nintendo Switch for $59.99.
