Comic 'Sweet Paprika' Unveils Collectible Statue

Months ahead of its debut, Sweet Paprika — the new erotic comedy from DC and Image Comics creator Mirka Andolfo — is expanding, with the launch of a new Kickstarter campaign funding a statue based on the project’s title character.
The seven-inch statue was digitally sculpted by Andrew Hickinbottom, produced by Arancia Studio and manufactured by Infinite Statue. It depicts Paprika, the career-driven chief creative officer at a New York-based publisher who finds herself distracted by the charming simplicity of delivery boy Dill, in all her devilish glory… and that’s meant literally; in Andolfo’s story, Paprika is an actual devil, and Dill is an angel, making this a tale of particularly star-crossed lovers.

Crowdfunding for the campaign launches today, with backers also able to receive additional rewards depending on their funding tier; amongst those other rewards are a Sweet Paprika art book (available in both print and digital formats); pins, prints, and totes featuring the character; and an exclusive emoji set based around the project.
The Sweet Paprika statue is just the latest format for Andolfo’s series; announced initially as an animated project, with Gabriele Pennacchioli directing and Wild Sheep Content's Erik Barmack executive producing, the project will also be released as a comic book from Image Comics, Andolfo’s publisher for her Mercy property, in July 2021.
