Tom Hardy has teamed up with Gareth Evans, the filmmaker behind the bone-crunching action films The Raid and The Raid 2, for the crime thriller, Havoc.

Evans wrote and will direct the Netflix project. He is also producing via his One More One Productions. Hardy, who is starring, is also producing, as well as Evans’ frequent collaborators, Ed Talfan of Severn Screen and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films.

In Havoc, Hardy will play a bruised detective who, after a drug deal gone wrong, must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son, while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.

A late June start date in Europe is being eyed. Evans has an affinity for Wales as that is where he shot his 2018 period horror movie, Apostle, which was also produced by Severn and XYZ.

The filmmaker, who edits and choreographs his films, burst on the scene with his Indonesian martial arts flicks Marantau and The Raid, taking it to epic levels with the latter’s expansive sequel, The Raid 2. His last work was Gangs of London, a gritty crime saga he co-created, that aired on Sky and AMC.

Hardy is next due on the big-screen with Venom: Let There Be Carnage in which he reprises his role as the Spider-Man anti-hero. The Sony picture is currently scheduled for a June 25, 2021 opening.

Evans is repped by WME, Management 360, Range Media and Jackoway Austen. Hardy is repped by Range Media Partners, United Agents, and Sloane Offer.
