'Tomb Raider' Reboot Adds 'Into the Badlands' Star Daniel Wu
Daniel Wu has signed on to team with Alicia Vikander in the Tomb Raider reboot, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The origin story will focus on a young and untested Croft (Vikander) fighting to survive her first adventure.

The star of AMC's Into the Badlands will play Lu Ren, a ship captain who teams with Croft on a quest to find her father. They will face off against the reboot's villain, played by Walton Goggins.
Roar Uthaug will direct from a script by Geneva Robertson-Dworet. Production begins later this month in South Africa. The film is set to hit theaters March 16, 2018.
MGM and Warner Bros. are co-producing the adaptation of the hit video game franchise, with MGM overseeing production. They acquired the rights from GK Films, which had previously purchased the film rights in 2011 from Square Enix Ltd. Graham King is serving as producer. Cassidy Lange is overseeing production for MGM and Niija Kuykendall is overseeing for Warner Bros.
Along with Into the Badlands, Wu's upcoming projects include the Chinese fantasy-comedy Wished. He is repped by CAA, Leverage Management and attorney PJ Shapiro at Ziffren Brittenham.
