Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Alba and Michelle Yeoh have joined Jason Statham in the sequel to 2011's The Mechanic.

Summit will release the next installment in the Millennium Films action franchise on Jan. 22, 2016. Summit also dated Millennium Films' thriller Criminal, which includes Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds and Jones among its cast, for August 2015.

Dennis Gansel is directing Mechanic: Resurrection, which follows the hitman Arthur Bishop (Statham) as he struggles to complete a list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world. William Chartoff, David Winkler, John Thompson and Frank DeMartini are producing, and Avi Lerner is executive producing.

Principal photography began on Nov. 4 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Criminal, directed by Ariel Vromen, centers on a convict who is implanted with the memories of a dead CIA agent in hopes of him helping stop an international terrorist. Its cast includes Gary Oldman, Gal Gadot and Alice Eve. It's produced by Millennium and will be released by Summit.

Jones will next appear in The Homesman, a Western he directed and co-wrote, which is generating Oscar buzz and will screen at AFI Fest next week. Alba, who recently appeared in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, is set for projects including the action comedy Barely Lethal, opposite Samuel L. Jackson, and the indie comedy The Wright Girls.

Yeoh is set to return in The Weinstein Co.’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel.

Jones and Alba are repped by CAA. Yeoh was with Resolution.

Mechanic: Resurrection currently has the Jan. 22, 2016, release date to itself.

Nov. 8 2.14 a.m. Updated with Lerner's executive producer credit and Thompson's producer credit.
