Vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows has sunk its teeth into a distribution deal and will be released on multiple platforms.

The Orchard has picked up U.S. digital, DVD and broadcast distribution rights, while Unison Films will handle the U.S. theatrical release. Funny or Die will handle marketing via its wide social media reach leading up to the film's release.

The movie premiered at January's Sundance Film Festival. Written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, it depicts the story of four vampires living in New Zealand, each meant to skewer one of the genre's traditional incarnations. They live together as roommates, trying to navigate 21st century life.

What We Do in the Shadows is part of the Midnight Madness lineup at the Toronto Film Festival.

The deal was negotiated by Craig Sussman of The Orchard with producer Emanuel Michael and CAA.
