Trailer Report: 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Crushes 'Ant-Man'
Like an X-Wing fighter barreling toward the Death Star, the Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens trailer flew past all the other big trailers to land in the top spot for the week ending April 20.
The Force Awakens has recorded 64,670,093 YouTube views since its April 16 release, according to marketing firm Zefr, which tracks the numbers.

Counting non-YouTube views, Disney announced separately that the trailer recorded 88 million views in its first 24 hours. Based on YouTube views, the Star Wars trailer had the best first week of any movie trailer in 2014 or 2015, besting the original Force Awakens trailer first-week total of 58.2 million views.
The new trailer also gave a bump to that first Star Wars teaser, which jumped 10 spots to No. 5. It notched 6 million views, and its cumulative total now stands at 109.1 million.
Disney also nabbed the No. 2 spot on the list with the first trailer for Ant-Man’s 16.3 million YouTube views. The first-week performance for the Paul Rudd-headlined movie's debut trailer compared favorably to those for other recent Marvel films. Guardians of the Galaxy did 16.4 million in its first week. Captain America: The Winter Soldier did 17.6 million. Of course nothing (except Star Wars) holds a candle to Avengers: Age of Ultron, which did 50.6 million views its first week.
In the No. 3 spot was the second trailer for Terminator: Genisys, which recorded a middling 10.9 million YouTube views in its first week.
In fourth was the 21-second sneak peek for the Batman v. Superman trailer, which notched 9.2 million views since it was released April 15. The full trailer was supposed to debut Monday, April 21, but it leaked and was released early by director Zack Snyder on April 17.
