Ty Burrell Joins Andy Samberg in 'Storks' Animated Movie (Exclusive)

Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key are also voicing parts in the Warner Animation Group feature.

Modern Family star Ty Burrell has joined the voice cast of Storks, an animated adventure comedy from Warner Animation Group.

Additionally, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, the stars of the upcoming New Line comedy Keanu, are also on the call sheet along with Andy Samberg and Kelsey Grammer.

The movie has a Sept. 23 release date and is being co-directed by Nicholas Stoller and Doug Sweetland from an original script by Stoller.

The story is set in a world where storks no longer deliver babies but rather packages for a global internet retail giant. When the company’s top stork accidentally activates the dusty Baby Making Machine, producing an authorized baby, he sets in motion a journey that will see the stork’s true mission restored.

Glenn Ficarra, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, John Sequa, Brad Lewis and Jared Stern serve as executive producers.

While Burrell has been starring on the Emmy-winning comedy Modern Family since 2009 (winning two himself), he is no stranger to movie voice work. The actor’s credits include DreamWorks Animation’s Mr. Peabody & Sherman and this summer’s Pixar movie Finding Dory. His last onscreen film appearance was opposite Kristen Wiig and Bil Hader in The Skeleton Twins.

Burrell is repped by ICM Partners and Frank Stewart.
