As any avid follower of the career of J.J. Abrams knows, there's a common thread running through all of his directorial works to date, and his name is Greg Grunberg. But with Grunberg's name missing from any mention of Star Wars: Episode VII so far, does that mean that Abrams' most high-profile project will be missing the human equivalent of his lucky rabbit's foot?

With appearances in everything from Felicity to Star Trek — in that last one, he doesn't even pass as a "blink and you'll miss him" appearance; you can only hear his voice in one scene — Abrams' loyalty to the actor (and vice versa) is an impressive thing to behold. Following fan concern about the distinct lack of the actor's presence in any Star Wars rumors, Grunberg took to Twitter to set the record straight.

Is that last line a clue about his role? After all, Abrams hasn't been shy of killing off Grunberg in other projects. (He was the swiftly dispatched pilot in Lost, after all.) So should we expect to see the actor as a dead Jedi in some background somewhere? Or maybe we should listen to all droids carefully, in case one sounds like that nervous guy from Alias. Now that the secret's out, we can only hope to see Grunberg show up in the background of some Bad Robot tweet before too long.
