‘I Hate Myselfie,' the second book from Keywords Press, the collaboration between UTA and publisher Atria, made the best-seller lists in its first week.

“Hate the selfie, love the book” might be vlogger Shane Dawson’s new motto.

I Hate Myselfie, the first book from the YouTube star who counts more than 12.5 million followers across his three channels, had a stellar debut week.

The book was the No. 1 paperback at Barnes & Noble and landed at No. 5 on Publishers Weekly's paperback best-seller list. It has gone back to press five times, and there are now more than 100,000 copies in print.

Atria says it is the best first week ever for any book by a YouTube personality.

I Hate Myselfie is a collection of 18 essays about the messiness of growing up. Dawson moves beyond his YouTube persona to tackle such personal topics as being a fat kid, losing 150 pounds in an unhealthy fashion and growing up poor.

Dawson has become a genuine YouTube star since he posted his first video in 2008. In addition to those 12.5 million YouTube followers, he’s got 2.3 million Twitter followers and 3.9 million Facebook likes. Forbes put him on its list of the 25 most famous web celebrities. He also has won a Streamy and Teen Choice Award.

Keywords Press is a collaboration between United Talent Agency and Atria Publishing designed "to publish digital influencers." I Hate Myselfie is the press' second book since it was founded in May 2014. British vlogger Zoe Sugg's Girl Online was its first book. Upcoming titles include Connor Franta's Work in Progress and Justine Ezarik's I, Justine.
