Zoe Saldana on Sunday shared a touching tribute for her friend and Star Trek co-star, the late Anton Yelchin.

The Russian-born actor would have turned 29.

"Happy birthday Anton- in our hearts forever," Saldana wrote with a picture of the Star Trek cast hanging out together.

Yelchin played Pavel Chekov, the USS Enterprise's navigator.

The film and TV actor died in June 2016 in a freak accident when his Jeep rolled back on him while he was outside the vehicle.

Coincidentally, his final project, the drama thriller Thoroughbreds, also opened this weekend.

The film also stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Olivia Cooke. Focus Features debuted Thoroughbreds in 549 theaters, and it took in $1.2 million.
