Chelsea Clinton is writing a children’s book, and right off the bat she’s tweaking the Republicans with the title.
She Persisted, which will be published May 30 from Philomel Books, will tell the stories of 13 women who persevered despite opposition, including old standbys Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, and Ruby Bridges as well as newer figures, such as Oprah Winfrey, Sally Ride and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

The title, of course, references Sen. Mitch McConnell’s admonishment to Sen. Elizabeth Warren when she kept talking about Attorney General Jeff Session’s abysmal civil rights record as U.S. attorney and Alabama attorney general despite being asked to stop (because of Senate rules barring one senator from disparaging another).
Chelsea’s mother, Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee for president, tweeted McConnell’s words and added “so must we all.” Opposition to McConnell — and the implied sexism in his comment — became a rallying cry for many women in the first days of the Trump administration.

Clinton previously wrote the children’s book It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going! in 2015.
