Comics’ best and brightest will come together to celebrate the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund this March, with Image Comics’ release of The CBLDF Presents: Liberty, a collection of five years’ worth of material created to benefit the comic industry non-profit.
The 216-page collection collects Image’s Liberty Annual releases from 2008 through 2012, and will include work from the likes of Neil Gaiman, Mark Millar, Geoff Johns, Frank Miller and Mike Mignola, as well as rare Walking Dead material from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard and a Criminal short by Ed Brubaker and Sean Philips.
STORY: Image Comics Named ‘Publisher of the Year’ by Comic Book Retailers
Calling the Liberty collection “perfect for comics aficionados because it has so many of their favorite creators in there,” CBLDF Executive Director Charles Brownstein said that the anthology was also “a terrific book for fans and retailers to give to the new readers flocking to comics right now as a sampler of all the incredible talent the medium has to offer. Best of all, it helps CBLDF pay for our important work on behalf of readers, retailers and creators everywhere.”
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund was founded in 1986 to protect First Amendment rights of comic creators, publishers, retailers and readers by providing legal advice, assistance and representation to those in need. You can find out more about the organization by going to the CBLDF site.
Liberty will be released in comic stores and digitally on March 26.
