Los Angeles police are investigating after approximately $1 million worth of shoes were stolen from a warehouse in Torrance.
A trailer packed with shoes was stolen last Sunday, police said. On Tuesday, the trailer was recovered in the city of Whittier, but all the footwear had been removed. The product brand is unclear.
Not long after the truck was recovered, a tip led authorities to an unidentified business in the 4400 block of Baldwin Avenue, in the city of El Monte. There they recovered approximately $900,000 worth of the stolen product, police said.
Detectives are still investigating, trying to track the down the remaining stolen footwear.
Officers from the commercial crimes division and cargo-hijack unit are working the case.
