Where to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in L.A.

Angelenos are good at celebrating all things green — the earth, marijuana, and, of course, St. Patrick’s Day. When else during the year do you get to drink green sangria and eat green ice cream all while feasting on corned beef in between shots of Jameson? From a boat party to beer gardens, here’s where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in L.A. 

The Bungalow (101 Wilshire Blvd.)
The Santa Monica hot spot is going green. On Friday, March 17, from noon to 2:00 a.m. there will be green sangria and green margaritas, plus traditional St. Patrick’s day food — think: corned beef sandwiches and complimentary shamrock cookies. The fun doesn’t stop with all things St. Patrick’s Day: the NCAA championship will be playing as well as a special performance by the California Feetwarmers. 

Angel City Brewery & Public House (216 South Alameda)
Heading downtown? Pick up a pint paired with corned beef tacos from Downtown Taco Co. and green ice cream and churros from Ridges Churro Bar. Also at the event will be live music from We the Folk, The Lavendar Scare and The Holwing Faith. 

Tam O’Shanter (2980 Los Feliz Blvd.)
This all day-event features a party tent, live music and more for the Irish-themed bash. There will also be Guinness kegs, Jameson and even raffles and giveaways with performances by Bracken Band Celtic Duo, Plough Boys and Whiskey Sunday. 

Tom Bergin’s (840 S. Fairfax Ave.)
The mid-city pub is advertising their festivities as a “celebration to remember (or not).” Starting from 6 a.m. and running through the night until 2:00 a.m. that party may be one of the longest in the city. In the morning there will be traditional Irish breakfast, including Irish beans, eggs, bacon or bangers. And for dinner there will be plenty of corned beef specials along with fried chicken and grilled cheese. Wash it all down with the Guinness tap truck, variety of Irish whiskeys and the pub’s famous Irish coffee made with Tullamore DEW Irish whiskey, dark roast coffee, simple syrup and Irish cream. 

Molly Malone’s (575 S. Fairfax Ave.)
Try the Irish stew at this go-to spot for all things Irish. The party starts at 12 p.m. with performances by Howl’n Wake, Jim Paxson and The Black Shamrocks. Tickets can be purchased here. 

Casey’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival  (613 S. Grand Ave.)
It’s the 44th annual fest with plenty of food (including pizza) and booze. The party is free before 3:30 p.m. After that it’s $20 to get in on the fun. 

Shamrock N Roll
If you’re looking to sing T-Pain’s “I’m on a Boat” lyrics, this event is just for you. The Queen Mary’s annual over-the-top event kicks off on the Promenade Deck in Long Beach. Full details and ticket information can be found here.
