Daveed Diggs, Aasif Mandvi, Justin Bartha, Gaby Hoffmann, Jason Biggs, Mamie Gummer and Rachel Dratch are set for this year’s 24 Hour Plays on Broadway.
The intensive theatrical endeavor, set for Nov. 14 at the American Airlines Theater, challenges participants to write, direct and perform six original plays within 24 hours. Proceeds from the one-night-only performance of the works benefit the Company’s program supporting theater professionals 25 and under — The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals.
Hugh Dancy, Amber Tamblyn, Michael Cerveris, Grace Gummer, Michael Chernus, Jenna Ushkowitz, Tracie Thoms, Raúl Castillo, Olivia Washington, Russell Jones, Julie White, Anson Mount, Ukweli Roach, Joanna Christie, David Krumholtz, Andre Royo, Thomas Sadoski, Justice Smith and Alicia Witt will be part of the night’s cast. Ethan Lipton and his orchestra will be the evening’s musical guests; Leigh Silverman will be its honoree.
David Lindsay-Abaire, Hansol Jung, Warren Leight, Jonathan Marc Sherman and Bess Wohl are five of the writers who will pen the original works. Additional castmembers, writers and directors will be announced in the coming weeks.
