A motorist struck and injured six people on Saturday morning in a hit-and-run after he was pulled over for running a red light.
LAPD Officer Mike Lopez told The Hollywood Reporter that at 10:45 a.m., a motorcycle police officer witnessed the suspect, a 35-year-old white male, blow a red light and attempted to pull him over; the suspect kept going and didn’t pull over.
The suspect proceeded to first hit two female pedestrians — a mother and her 13-year-old daughter — at Eight and Main streets before continuing on and striking a vehicle with four passengers at the intersection of Ninth and Main streets. He was taken into custody after the second collision, which forced his vehicle to stop. The man was arrested for a felony hit-and-run.
Both the pedestrians and passengers are in stable condition and did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
