Amber Heard failed to show up at an Australian court on Monday to address charges of dog-smuggling against her.
The 29-year-old actress was charged with two counts of breaking Australia’s strict quarantine laws after she allegedly smuggled her two Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, into the country on a private jet in May. At the time, Heard was visiting her husband Johnny Depp who was in Australia shooting the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
The incident caused outrage in Australia and made headlines around the world. Australia’s Minister for Agriculture Barnaby Joyce even threatened to put down Heard’s dogs if they weren’t immediately removed from the country.
The likelihood of Heard appearing in an Australian court seems slim, as the actress told Australian morning show Sunrise that she and Depp would never return to Australia.
The Guardian reports that this is the third court mention that Heard has failed to appear at but she was given an adjournment with agreement from the prosecution. The matter is set to return to court on Dec. 7.
