Cristin Milioti is set to star in Zoe Kazan’s new off-Broadway play After the Blast.
The Tony nominee and How I Met Your Mother alum will also be joined by Eboni Booth, Will Connolly, William Jackson Harper, Ben Horner, David Pegram and Teresa Yenque in the production.
Directed by Lila Neugebauer (The Antipodes), the new production will begin a six-week limited run Oct. 7 before an opening night Oct. 23 at the Claire Tow Theater. It will play through Nov. 19, and open the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater’s 2017-2018 season.
After the Blast is set in the wake of total environmental disaster, when the human population has retreated underground. Experience is simulated, fertility is regulated, and Anna (Milioti) and Oliver (Harper) have one last chance to have a baby.
The play is the latest project penned by Kazan, who stars in the indie film The Big Sick and also wrote the stage works Absalom, We Live Here and Trudy and Max in Love. She also wrote the screenplays for the films Ruby Sparks and Wildlife, and the miniseries The Secret History of Wonder Woman.
Milioti, who was Tony-nominated for 2012’s Once, recently starred in David Bowie’s musical Lazarus with Michael C. Hall and appeared in episodes of Hulu’s The Mindy Project and FX’s Fargo. She is repped by The Gersh Agency and Untitled Entertainment.
