The Holmby Hills estate of Brad Grey, the late chief executive of Paramount Pictures, has just been listed for $77.5 million.
The residence boasts five bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, totaling 14,000 square feet of space across two structures that are situated on a massive 2.15-acre gated lot on Carolwood Drive. The Grey estate, as it is known, was designed by Napa Valley-based architect Howard Backen of the firm Backen, Gillam & Kroeger, and the interiors were done by the design firm Atelier AM.
In the main house (13,000 square feet), there is a huge master suite with his-and-hers bathrooms and views of Century City, complimented by four additional bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The living room can double as a studio-quality theater, which leads to a den with a bar and a private office. An additional wooded barn space includes an open kitchen, dining area, large family room and sun room. Windowed walls give the entire place an indoor-outdoor feel and slide away to reveal a center courtyard and an outdoor dining area. Lushly manicured grounds with a fruit orchard and an herb garden lead to a two-story recreational facility that offers twin gyms, a cold plunge, steam room and sauna that are just steps away from an outdoor pool.
Grey died of cancer on May 14, 2017, at age 59. He and his wife Cassandra had completed construction of the home just 12 months before his death.
“The house was built to such specification that there is no finer built house in all of Los Angeles. I can’t even describe the quality,” said Westside Estate Agency’s Stephen Shapiro, who is listing the property with Hilton & Hyland’s Linda May.
