World of Children — a global recognition and funding organization for individuals who serve the needs of vulnerable children — will honor Veronica and Brian Grazer at a gala fundraiser by presenting the couple with the World of Children Board of Governors’ Award for their dedication to the organization and elevating awareness for child advocates.
The World of Children Hero Awards Benefit is scheduled for April 19 at Montage Beverly Hills. The ceremony, co-hosted by Lily Aldridge, Brooke Burke-Charvet and UNICEF’s Caryl M. Stern, “honors real-life heroes and help funds their programs to help more children,” per the announcement.
The Grazers have been involved with World of Children since meeting co-founders Harry Leibowitz and Kay Isaacson-Leibowitz in 2014. Since then, the couple helped to establish the Hero Awards Benefit, now an annual event for World of Children. In the past three years, Veronica has become an active World of Children board members. The couple tied the knot in February 2016, and in lieu of gifts, they asked guests to donate to World of Children. Also, Veronica used her birthday as cause to ask friends to donate to the organization, and she raised nearly $25,000.
Of the Grazers, Isaacson-Leibowitz said: “Their commitment to World of Children is never about them. It’s about their deep faith and commitment to making the world a better place for children.”
Max Frieder, co-founder of Artolution, also will be honored at the event. Frieder will receive the Crisis Award for his work in igniting positive social change via impactful, large-scale interactive murals around the world. Additionally, three other individuals will receive Alumni Awards, which are given to past honorees who have previously received a World of Children Award and come with a minimum cash grant of $20,000 to continue their respective work with children. Those include: Health Alumni Honoree Dr. Elizabeth Jones, founding chair of Foundation for the Children of the Californias; Humanitarian Alumni Honoree Douglas Maclagan, founder of Child Welfare Scheme; and Youth Alumni Honoree Sarah Cronk, founder of The Sparkle Effect.
The awards program will also feature special performances by the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir and the Kenyan Boys Choir. More information can be found here.
