Cecil the Lion Beanie Baby - S 2015
Courtesy of TyTy just launched a “Cecil the Lion” Beanie Baby as a fundraiser in honor of the famous Zimbabwe lion that was killed by Minnesota hunter Walter Palmer.
The company has pledged 100 percent of the profits to WildCRU, the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit of England’s University of Oxford.
“Hopefully, this special Beanie Baby will raise awareness for animal conservation and give comfort to all saddened by the loss of Cecil,” said the company’s founder, Ty Warner, in a press release.
The Cecil Beanie Baby’s photo was posted on Facebook with the caption: “Cecil 2002 – 2015. In memory of the beloved Zimbabwe lion that was tragically killed July 2 2015.”
100% of the profits from Cecil will be donated to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit.ureser

The Chicago Tribune reported the Cecil Beanie Baby will go on sale for $5.99 at the end of September.
