China’s Yulin Festival, an annual dog meat celebration for which nearly 10,000 dogs will be slaughtered this year, is underway and celebrities and animal activists alike are fighting to bring the festivities to an end.
A Change.org petition to ban the dog-eating festival is currently circulating with more than 3.9 million supporters and people have also taken to Twitter to protest using the hashtag #StopYuLin2015.
