While she confessed she doesn’t watch a lot of movies, during a brief visit to India’s film capital Mumbai Cindy Crawford said that Bollywood is making its presence felt globally.
The supermodel was in town Thursday to launch a new Omega watch collection, the Constellation Pluma. Crawford has been associated with the brand for twenty years, a relationship that saw her visit India for the first time in 1998.
“Everyone knows about Bollywood … it is huge and an international phenomenon today,” Crawford replied when asked about her views on India’s film industry at a press event ahead of an evening gala. The age-defying mother of two teenagers also added that if offered a role, she would love to be part of a Bollywood film.
Recollecting her first trip to the country, Crawford said in a statement that she was “amazed to see how Mumbai has changed since 1998 and yet it feels so familiar, bringing back some beautiful memories from my last visit here.”
While she added that she preferred watching TV over movies, when asked if she would participate in reality shows, Crawford replied; “I don’t think I want the camera all the time on my face.”
Crawford also talked about her upcoming book Becoming, due next year when she turns 50, explaining that it was “not really an autobiography, but an autobiographical,” featuring 50 unpublished images: “The book will talk about the different lessons I learned in life. Taking chances, learning to say no, how do I feel about ageing, becoming a mother and the lessons that I learnt in the fashion world.”
Making an appearance in a flowing emerald green gown with a thigh high slit, Crawford joined Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan at the evening red carpet for the invitation-only dinner to celebrate Omega’s new collection launch.
Crawford posted a photo with Bachchan on her instagram account stating, “A #Bollywood dream night in Mumbai (with) my fellow @omega ambassador, @bachchan.”
