Giving back is de rigueur in Hollywood, but giving up a good night’s sleep in the process is far less common.
On Nov. 20, business leaders will set up camp outside with homeless youth for the third annual “Sleep Out: Executive Edition” sponsored by Covenant House California. In L.A. — one of 12 North American cities participating in the fundraiser — Fox’s Paul Hanneman, Paramount’s Liza Pano, Hudson Jeans’ Peter Kim, Global Holdings’ Sam Solakyan, Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump & Aldisert’s Jeremiah Reynolds and KPMG’s Omid Yazdi are booked for the overnight event

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hanneman said that this year’s event will mark his fourth time volunteering to sleep outside for Covenant House. “We’re out there sleeping on the street so homeless youth don’t have to,” said Hanneman, who added that the event will take place in a parking lot on Western Avenue. “It’s a massive problem we have in Los Angeles, and the more awareness we can generate to raise funds to get these kids off the streets the better.”
And the executives won’t have any special amenities outdoors — each will be given two cardboard boxes and a sleeping bag. “It makes you realize how horrific it is to sleep outside,” Hanneman added.
Last year’s “Sleep Out” raised nearly $400,000. For more information on the event, click here.
