Francesca Hilton, the only child of ailing Hollywood socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor and Conrad Hilton, the late founder of the Hilton Hotels chain, has died. She was 67.
Francesca Hilton died Monday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke or heart attack at her home, her publicist, Edward Lozzi, said.
“We were on the phone minutes before she died,” Lozzi said in a statement. “We were discussing her book she was writing and a possible deal. She had to go to the restroom. She never made it out.”
Hilton had for years feuded in court with Gabor’s ninth and current husband, Frederic von Anhalt, over family finances and access to her mother.
Hilton, who once dated the late actor Peter Sellers, appeared in Henry Jaglom’s A Safe Place (1971) opposite Jack Nicholson and Tuesday Weld and was in an episode of CBS’ Cannon. She also worked as a photographer, publicist and stand-up comic.
Lozzi noted that Gabor, 97, is “suffering total dementia and cannot speak.” Conrad Hilton was her second husband; Gabor was the second of his three wives.
