The model mogul will return for her fourth season judging NBC’s America’s Got Talent later this year, alongside Howie Mandel, Mel B and new panelist Simon Cowell. Her Project Runway, which she executive produces, has been Emmy-nominated for outstanding reality competition every year since the series’ 2004-05 premiere on Bravo (it now airs on Lifetime), while Klum has been nominated for outstanding reality host six times and shared the win with Tim Gunn in 2013. The show, which won a Peabody in 2008, is currently in the running for a PGA Award – this year’s winners will be announced Jan. 23 – for the 10th-straight time. Klum also has hosted all 11 seasons of Germany’s Next Topmodel in her native country.
As one of the world’s most famous and enduring supermodels, Klum was one of the first Victoria’s Secret Angels and has returned to host the annual fashion show’s CBS telecast. She also has two lingerie lines of her own, Heidi by Heidi Klum and Heidi Klum Intimates, which she sported in Sia’s “Fire Meets Gasoline” music video last year. Her extensive modeling portfolio includes editorials in nearly every conceivable major fashion publication, including Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, W and Esquire, as well as campaigns for a countless number of brands including Pirelli, Givenchy, H&M, Nike, Target, Express, Nine West, INC and Finesse, plus Germany’s Volkswagen, Siemens, and Braun – the latter insured her legs for more than $2 million. In 2004 Klum released a self-help book, Heidi Klum’s Body of Knowledge: 8 Rules of Model Behavior (to Help You Take Off on the Runway of Life).
In addition to her hosting work – which includes the 2008 Emmys, Lifetime’s Seriously Funny Kids (which she executive produced) and the 2012 MTV EMAs – Klum has acted or made cameo appearances in Zoolander, The Devil Wears Prada, Ella Enchanted, Sex and the City, Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, Sesame Street, Spin City and HBO’s The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (where she portrayed Bond girl Ursula Andress).
Klum is a member of the American Red Cross’ National Celebrity Cabinet, and she also has been involved with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, God’s Love We Deliver, amfAR, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Stand Up to Cancer. The noted Halloween enthusiast also served as ambassador to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF in 2011.
For her career achievements in fashion, Klum was presented with an honorary CLIO Image Award last May and has been immortalized with her own Barbie doll and wax doppleganger at Madame Tussauds in Berlin.
