Revamped as an arena show and supported by a cast of 150 musicians, singers, dancers and a choir, and newly named Broadway To Oz for local audiences, the live concerts will showcase Jackman’s stage and screen successes, including material from The Boy From Oz, Les Miserables and his signature turn as Wolverine.
Described as something “bigger” than the Broadway show, the new show will feature songs Jackman has loved and performed across his career, combined with storytelling and dance.
“Broadway To Oz is a dream come true. This is THE show I’ve always wanted to bring home,” the Tony award winner said.
He added: “There’s dance, there’s stories. You’re going to get to know the real me in that show. I’ll tell you what it’s like being in my shoes in my career — both on screen and off, growing up.”
Broadway To Oz will open in Melbourne on Nov. 24 then travel to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Jackman last appeared on stage in Australia in The Boy From Oz arena production in 2006. He will next be seen on screen in Pan.
