Kresley Cole, the author of the hit paranormal romance series Immortals After Dark, is getting hotter–sexy hot.
The author’s adult erotica series will debut with the digital-first title The Professional, which will be e-serialized in three parts starting in December. A paperback bind-up is scheduled for 2014. The book launches Cole’s The Game Maker series.
In a statement from publisher Gallery Books announcing the deal, Cole gave readers a tease of the story.
“The hero and heroine in The Professional are emotionally complex characters, and their story seemed to demand these highly charged encounters, each one more provocative than the last. This is my steamiest book to date, so I’m delighted to be releasing it at a time when erotica has such a widespread readership.”

Added Lauren McKenna, editorial director at Gallery’s digital imprint Pocket Star and Cole’s longtime editor: “Kresley has wanted to publish erotica for some time now, and in fact one of her short stories appeared in a best-selling anthology. Now that The Professional is complete, we’re thrilled to be able to offer this powerful new series to her legions of fans.”
The Immortals After Dark series is currently at 14 books, including two (Dreams of a Dark Warrior and Kiss of a Demon King) that reached the top spot on a New York Times best-seller list.
In 2012, Cole launched two more YA series. Game Makers is her first erotica line.
All told, Cole’s books have been published in 18 languages and garnered her three RITA Awards from the Romance Writers of America.
