John Legend won’t be checking the ballot box for Donald Trump.
The Grammy-winning singer and soon-to-be father made his opinions (very) clear on the GOP candidate in a Twitter exchange on Friday.
Legend took it upon himself to engage in a heated social media discussion with Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. when he replied to a tweet from the businessman.
“Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting couldn’t even answer. The participation medal/micro aggression generation is pretty sad!” Trump Jr. first tweeted about the Friday-evening Donald Trump rally in Chicago that was canceled due to security concerns after protesters packed into the arena where it was to take place.
“@DonaldJTrumpJr I think they were protesting your racist father,” Legend fired back. “This isn’t complicated.”
“Here we go again. That can’t be the answer for everything you don’t like,” responded Trump Jr. “That’s why the country is so divided now!”
The exchanged continued when a Twitter user posed the rhetorical question: “is John Legend that disgraceful? No education.” to which Legend replied, “The Donalds and I graduated from the same University, funny enough.”
