Kanye West’s Grammy antics quickly were supplanted by the debut of his new Adidas line, pushing the focus from “Kanye West: The Beck Critic” to “Kanye West: The Designer.” Sources say the singer’s eye for design also has been trained on the Hidden Hills estate he and wife Kim Kardashian moved into this year. The couple had new furnishings installed, but West is said to have decided immediately that the look “wasn’t right,” so he had every piece of furniture removed, and they started from scratch.
Reps for West didn’t respond to requests for comment. Meanwhile, a source close to the rapper questioned why America’s Next Top Model judge Kelly Cutrone was so quick to publicly slam West’s design skills (“He’s a joke as a fashion designer”) less than 24 hours after welcoming the entertainer to designer Jeremy Scott’s fashion show in New York.
