Twitter followers of the late New York Times‘ columnist David Carr were shocked to see porn being published on his verified account Thursday morning.
It seems a porn bot by the name of “Miranda Davis” hacked Carr’s @carr2n account and began posting pictures.
Some users immediately began sending messages to Twitter to notify them something was terribly wrong.
Carr died unexpectedly in February 2015 at the age of 58.
“He was the finest media reporter of his generation, a remarkable and funny man who was one of the leaders of our newsroom,” Times‘ executive editor Dean Baquet wrote shortly after Carr’s death.
