Los Angeles police will officially announce at a media conference on Tuesday afternoon that they have arrested a suspect in a rash of burglaries of stars’ homes, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
No other details will be released until that presser at 3 p.m. at police headquarters. However, it has been reported that the suspect in a number of the recent high-profile cases is 19-year-old Tyress Williams. According to records, he was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and is being held on $700,000 bail.
Williams was arrested the same day Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Robert Woods’ home was broken into. The Los Angeles Times reported that Williams became a suspect in multiple break-ins after items from previous burglaries was found in his possession. That property allegedly belonged to Dodgers’ slugger Yasiel Puig, Rihanna and Christina Milian, all of whom were recently victimized. Puig has been targeted multiple times.
Police suspect Williams targeted homes when he knew his victims would be playing in a game or away on business, according to the Times.
Police declined to comment on the property recovered, again deferring questions to the upcoming press conference.
It is unclear if Williams is involved with any of the other high-profile break-ins (beyond the aforementioned), a list that has been growing the past few years.
