A man was shot by a security guard on Monday after he broke into a Washington, D.C., news station.
The man — who had made threats to the station in the past, according to reporters — forcibly entered the WTTG FOX 5 station around 3 p.m. and was shot in the lobby by a security guard, according to police.
Surveillance video shows the suspect kicking in the glass of the front doors of the building and then entering. If the shooting was also caught on film, it was not shared.
Police did not name the suspect, but sources told Fox 5 he is 38-year-old George Odemns of Northwest D.C. Police said he is currently stable at an area hospital.
The man is suspected of having mental health issues, police said.
No one else was hurt during the incident.
Police continue to investigate.
