The March of Dimes has found its 2014 Inspiring Woman of the Year: Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler.
The veteran film executive will be feted along with Elizabeth Banks and doctors James Byrne and Herman L. Hedriana at the 9th annual “March of Dimes Celebration of Babies: A Hollywood Luncheon,” which is set to take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Dec. 5.
Banks has been tapped to receive the 2014 March of Dimes Grace Kelly Award, which recognizes a celebrity parent who shares the March of Dimes commitment to a mission of helping improve the health of babies by helping mothers have full-term pregnancies. Banks has two children, sons Felix and Magnus, with husband Max Handelman.
Celebration of Babies is chaired by Jimmy Horowitz, president of Universal Pictures, and his wife, Joi, along with producer Wyck Godfrey and his wife, Mary Kerr.

“Honoring Elizabeth Banks and Elizabeth Gabler is a dream come true for everyone involved with Celebration of Babies, and I’m confident March of Dimes can count on another year of generosity from Hollywood at this year’s luncheon,” Horowitz said. Godfrey added: “This year’s honorees have long been recognized for their talent and leadership in the entertainment business, but at March of Dimes Celebration of Babies fundraiser we honor them for their dedication to family and community.”
Said Gabler, who has a daughter, Annalise: “Each year in the United States, four million babies are born and the March of Dimes mission work has touched every single one of them. I’m thrilled to be honored as their Inspiring Woman of the Year and to represent working moms everywhere.”
The luncheon promises to be an A-list industry event. Stepping in for master of ceremonies duties will be Jason Bateman. Meanwhile, event co-chairs include Gail Berman-Masters; Megan and Peter Chernin; Jordan and John Davis; Lee Gabler; Ann and Jim Gianopulos; Handelman; Nina Jacobson; Billy Lazarus and Brian Bumbery; Bryan Lourd; Kelly and Ron Meyer; Amanda and Arnon Milchan; Rebecca and Hutch Parker; Karen Rosenfelt and Ken Blancato; Alissa Vradenburg and Michael Sheresky; and Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth.
Last year’s Celebration of Babies raised more than $1,000,000 for the organization. The 2014 event is presented by Digital Domain and Deluxe Entertainment Services Group. More information can be found at marchofdimes.org.
