On Friday Mitt Romney announced he’s not running for president of the United States again in 2016, and people expressed their various emotions about the news on Twitter. “Mitt Romney,” “Mitt Romney NOT” and “President in 2016” trended on Twitter as users reacted. Some people were sad, others happy and a few people were asking why the news someone is not running is news at all.
Here’s a look at what people had to say:
At a dive bar, Mitt Romney watches a newscast about him not running. Bartender: “the usual, Mitt?” Romney, gravely: “milk, straight up.”

Kind of sad to hear Romney isn’t running again. It was fun watching him alienate voters & talk about trickle down economics.

I’m very disappointed in Mitt Romney. America needs him and he quits on us. Sad day.

I’m kind of sad Mitt Romney isn’t running for President next year. I was looking forward to him acting more like an out-of-touch plutocrat.

The Romneys epitomize class, integrity and generosity. The eventual GOP nominee would be well served to live up to that standard.

Notice how happy the liberal media is. Even #MMFA types are praising Romney. It’s a hint. This is not good for us.

Romney quits #2016 race. Right call. Jeb Bush better candidate in the moderate Republican category.

And now we’re moving into the Romney-Is-Now-A-Kingmaker part of the cycle.

Also, GOP eyebrows raised by Romney’s ‘next generation of Republican leaders’ comment. Heard it as shot at Bush. Will have repercussions.
