The “Night Before,” one of the most exclusive events of Hollywood’s awards season, is returning for its 16th year.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Mary J. Blige, Margot Robbie & Tom Ackerley and Denzel & Pauletta Washington are among the A-listers who have signed on as host committee members for this year’s event, which benefits the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
The 2018 host committee for the party features a slew of current and past Oscar nominees and winners. Also on the committee are Amy Adams & Darren Le Gallo, Tanya Haden Black & Jack Black, Kate Capshaw & Steven Spielberg, Jessica Chastain, Tom Cruise, Gal Gadot & Jaron Varsano, Greta Gerwig, Allison Janney, Sharon & Richard Jenkins, Brie Larson, Sam Rockwell, Jada Pinkett Smith & Will Smith, Octavia Spencer, Meryl Streep, Rita Wilson & Tom Hanks and Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth.
In addition, The Hollywood Reporter is returning as one of the presenting sponsors of the event alongside Delta Air Lines, Ford Motor Company, L’Oréal, Target and YouTube. This marks THR’s fifth year as the sole media sponsor of the party.
The invitation-only event, which takes place every year on the Saturday night before the Oscars, will be held at Fox Studios. Jeffrey Katzenberg serves as chairman of the MPTF Foundation, with Ken Scherer as CEO.
Funds raised during the “Night Before” party are used to support MPTF, which assists industry members in Hollywood of all ages by providing social services, counseling and financial assistance. Last year’s party raised $5 million.
This year, Carmelized Productions by Jon Shook & Vinny Dotolo will provide the food, while Lavazza will provide its signature espresso.
