Barack Obama turned 56 on Friday, and a host of well-wishers sent their “happy birthday” greetings to the former president.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted a message to her husband. “Another year older, but the same phenomenal guy I married nearly 25 years ago. Happy birthday, @BarackObama — we love you so much!”
She also wrote to her husband’s fans in an Obama Foundation email, “I’m asking you to share with Barack, right now, how you’re stepping up to be a better citizen in your community. I’m asking you to share your own ‘daily act of citizenship.'” She added, “This work is what my husband is all about.”
Joe Biden also wrote to Obama on Twitter saying, “Your service has been a great gift to the country, and your friendship and brotherhood are a great gift to me.” Elizabeth Banks told the former president happy birthday and added, “things have been pretty shaky lately,” saying she missed Obama and Biden.
“Happy birthday to President @BarackObama, whose grace, thoughtfulness and compassion we miss every day,” wrote George Takei.
