After years of price cuts, Robin Williams’ Napa Valley estate has sold for $18.1 million, one of the listing agents for the property confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Williams’ 650-acre property first went on the market in 2012 for $35 million, according to The Wall Street Journal, which previously reported the sale. The estate was relisted in April 2014 for $29.9 million, listing agent Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Previews International confirmed. The house was last listed at $22.9 million, Rey noted.
The property was purchased by French winemakers Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of Chateau Pontet-Canet, Rey confirmed.
The sale price is one of the highest ever for a Napa Valley home without a winery, Rey told The Journal. Currently wine from the property’s 18.4 acres of vineyards is made off-site by local growers; it’s unclear if the buyers, who plan to make wine from the vineyards, will build a winery on the property, The Journal added.
The estate features a 20,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style house with five bedrooms and six-and-a-half baths. There’s also a tennis court, horse barn, fishing pond, guesthouse, hiking and horse-riding trails and a 65-foot infinity-edge swimming pool.
Listing agents for the property were Rey and Cyd Greer with Coldwell Banker Previews International. The buyers were repped by William Densberger and Rob Landsness of Pacific Union.
