A man who threw a 10-foot snake into a Studio City sushi restaurant was arrested for making criminal threats to employees on Sunday.
The man left Iroha Sushi of Tokyo, a sushi restaurant on the 12000 block of Ventura Boulevard, around 6:30 p.m. He and an employee at the restaurant had a dispute and the man returned shortly after with the reptile, according to the LAPD.
After he threw the large snake into the restaurant, customers began yelling at him to leave, the LAPD told The Hollywood Reporter. Police were notified and Los Angeles Animal Services removed the snake from the restaurant. The man was then taken into custody.

The bizarre incident occurred after the man ate and paid for his $200 meal, CBS LA reported. Servers at the restaurant described the scene: “You know, everyone’s, like, eating so customers are yelling, ‘Get this thing out! Are you crazy,'” Jessie Davaadorj, a server, told CBS.
Another server said that customers ran out of the restaurant upon seeing the snake. “We asked him like three or four times and he said, ‘No.’ He was, like, starting fights with the customers, so we had to call the police and fire department,” said Sissi Dashtort.
As of Tuesday evening, the man remains in custody, LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson told THR.
As for the restaurant, an employee told THR that it was back to business as usual.
