A gunman opened fire in Studio City Friday afternoon, prompting a massive response from the Los Angeles Police Department, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
According to an LAPD spokesperson, cops were called to Ventura and Laurel Canyon boulevards at 3:19 p.m. in response to reports of a man firing a gun. LAPD officer Liliana Preciado confirmed that the shooter was shot dead by police, but could not confirm how many shots were fired by officers.
Witnesses told reporters the man was seen firing a gun into the air. The officers were not able to approach the man because of a possible bomb attached to him. The bomb squad was on the scene and surrounding streets are still closed to allow for police activity
Just witnessed a guy being shot dead by the cops. He was sitting on a bench shooting into the air and wouldn’t drop the gun.
