Tony Award winner Idina Menzel sang the national anthem before the Super Bowl on Sunday at the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
Menzel sang a slow and steady version of the anthem, delivering a flawless performance without any vocal slip-ups as U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew overhead. Footage was also shown of U.S. troops watching from overseas.
The “Let It Go” singer is not a stranger to performing the national anthem prior to major sporting events. She’s previously performed the song during the 2014 MLB All-Star Game and at a New York Giants vs. New England Patriots game in 2007.
Menzel joins previous A-list performers of the anthem prior to the Super Bowl including Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Natalie Cole, Garth Brooks and Beyonce.
The New England Patriots face off against the Seattle Seahawks during this year’s 49th Super Bowl. Additional Super Bowl performances include John Legend singing “America the Beautiful” and Katy Perry, who will perform the halftime show with Lenny Kravitz.
