Tail o’ the Pup, the hot-dog stand near the Beverly Center that was shaped like a wiener in a bun, closed shop in 2005. Now family members of founder Eddie Blake reveal to THR they’re putting it up for sale: trademark, recipes, structure and all.
Nicole Miller, wife of Blake’s grandson Jay, says The Grove developer Rick Caruso recently entered into negotiations; bids start at $200,000 (call 818-517-5675).
“There’s a lot of history,” says Miller of the Pup, whose fans included Barbra Streisand and Jay Leno (plus, Pamela Anderson worked there in the series V.I.P., and Steve Martin chose it of all local icons to go airborne in L.A. Story).
The family does have one stipulation: “We’d like someone to actually operate it as a business, and do it locally.”
