Emma Watson‘s speech calling for gender equality earlier this week at the U.N. was met with universal praise, and now some rather famous men are supporting the cause on Twitter.
Utilizing the hashtag #HeForShe, Prince Harry, Tom Hiddleston, One Direction’s Harry Styles, Russell Crowe, Simon Pegg, Logan Lerman and Kiefer Sutherland are among the estimated 130,000-plus men who have joined the campaign that pushes men to be just as active in the struggle for gender equality.
In her speech, Watson, who was named a goodwill ambassador for U.N. Women earlier this year, said: “I am from Britain, and I think it is right that I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I should be able to make decisions about my own body.” She added: “If men don’t need to control, women won’t have to be controlled.”

Her rousing address contained the call to action: “Men – I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue, too.” Inspired, a whole host of male celebrities took to Twitter to show their support. THR has collected some of them here.
