A cappella is going underground.
The cast of In Transit, the first-ever a cappella musical to hit Broadway, has released a video of the song “Deep Beneath the City” to introduce its subway-set show.
The long-gestating production features a book, music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen), James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth, plus vocal arrangements by Pitch Perfect’s Deke Sharon.
Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the musical follows 11 New Yorkers as they ride the city’s subway system. Telly Leung, Justin Guarini, James Snyder and Erin Mackey are featured in the cast.
Previews begin Nov. 10 at the Circle in the Square Theatre before the show’s official opening on Dec. 11.
