Tyler Perry is looking to sell his lavish Atlanta estate for $25 million, reports Redfin.
Located in the ritzy Buckhead neighborhood, the sprawling French Provincial-style residence contains seven bedrooms and 11.5 baths within its 34,688 square feet. The entertainment mogul built the estate, which occupies 17 park-like acres near the Chattahoochee River, in 2007.
Among its many amenities: a huge screening room, a wine cellar, an infinity pool with swim-up bar, a lighted tennis court, an underground ballroom with catering kitchen, a spa, a gym, a “hobby house” and formal and informal gardens.

The listing also touts the property’s “Presidential-level security system,” which isn’t too surprising in light of Perry’s reported run-ins with alleged stalkers over the years. Last fall, Perry filed for an order of protection against 27-year-old Joshua Sole, who was charged with criminal trespass after allegedly disabling the alarm systems and surveillance equipment of Tyler Perry Studios and breaking in through a drop ceiling. It’s difficult to imagine such an incident occurring at the Buckhead estate, which is fortified by two gated entry points and contains a separate guard house.
Along with building a vast media empire, Perry has amassed a formidable real estate portfolio, with properties in Atlanta, New York and Beverly Hills. In 2013, Perry acquired a thousand-plus-acre parcel in Douglasville, Georgia, where it is believed he plans to build his next residence.
The writer-director, whose primetime soap The Haves & the Have Nots returns to OWN for its third season June 28, picked up the Buckhead property in 2005 for $9 million. Its new $25 million price tag makes it the second-most expensive home in the Atlanta area, behind an 18.6-acre estate built in 1993 asking an eye-popping $48 million.
