Christian Louboutin Hits Beverly Hills
A new, red-carpeted two-story Christian Louboutin West Coast flagship has landed in Beverly Hills — which recently also welcomed a new Jennifer Fisher jewelry boutique — in a building that once housed Charlie Chaplin’s offices. Now, it stocks the French luxury label’s footwear, fragrances, bags and leather accessories for men and women. An interior wall and an exclusive capsule line of shoes and handbags are decorated with French artist Jean-Vincent Simonet’s impressionistic designs. The decor is an ode to global getaways, from Portugal to Mexico. The new store replaces the designer’s former outpost on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood.
The store’s opening was heralded with a drive-in screening of the 2020 documentary film, director Olivier Garouste’s In the Footsteps of Christian Louboutin, which was held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with Janelle Monae, model/illustrator Langley Fox, DJ D-Nice and Dita Von Teese in attendance. Louboutin’s long list of Hollywood devotees includes Zendaya, Cardi B, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, Sterling K. Brown, Michael B. Jordan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Taylor Swift, who donned Louboutin’s pink peep-toe suede pumps at the 2021 Grammys.
Available in the new Beverly Hills flaghsip store, the brand’s daringly architectural spiked raffia Poupedou sandal zips at the back and features a nearly 4 inch heel. It’s designed in black calfskin leather that’s embossed to resemble snakeskin with two straps trimmed in natural raffia. Christian Louboutin, 477 N.
