The Look: A black and white polka dot off-the-shoulder dress from Jonathan Anderson’s fall 2017 collection for Loewe, paired with black ankle strap heels, also by Loewe.
The Wearer: Fashion’s favorite “It” girl Alexa Chung.
The Event: The Portrait Gala 2017, sponsored by William & Son, held at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Tuesday evening. The event was also attended by Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.
Why It Matters: Alexa Chung, forever the “It” Brit among the fashion world, is known the world over for her effortless sense of style. Even whens she’s attending prestigious galas alongside the royals and other diplomats in stuffy suits and stiff ball gowns, her same sense of cool shines through. Case in point: Chung’s polka dot Loewe gown, which, with its elbow-grazing puffy sleeves, has just enough drama to feel fancy despite the youthful print. Though she carried a sleek black clutch upon arrival, the socialite eventually swapped out the sparkly bag for a black top handle satchel, which added the perfect touch of British whimsy to the overall look.

Where to Buy: Unfortunately the dress won’t be produced. However, the Loewe heels will be available in Loewe stores and online, as well as retailers Barneys, Dover Street Market, Ikram, Jeffrey, for $890.
